She started in the media industry as an illustrator for music video storyboards (Vibestation, 2000), a voice-over talent for TV commercials, and a radio co-host. Taking a short break from productions, she taught English to grade-schoolers in Bangkok, Thailand (2002) while completing college proficiency courses in journalism. Next, it was East Africa to work with Radioactive Productions (2002-2004). For three years, she hosted live and syndicated radio shows which were broadcast on over ten channels nationwide, organized creative projects for volunteers in orphanages and hospitals, performed with the Kampala Theater, Radioactive Dancers, and held art exhibitions.

After a visit to Sri Lanka (2005) to assist in post-Tsunami disaster relief operations, Nyx returned to Manila, and started the “FunDaytion”—a small group of volunteers who created fun days for terminally-ill children and their families. In the National Bilibid Maximum Security Prison, she helped facilitate volunteer workshops for inmates. These included creative writing, music, photography, and live concerts (2006-2008).

At this time, Nyx also started writing and hosting travel adventure TV shows (Living Asia Channel), which continued for three years. After her second visit to Europe (2008), she bought a book called “Learn German in 30 Days”, and decided to stay. She married in Denmark, lived in Germany and Northern Italy, and learned to get by without rice. After the birth of her son, Nyx returned to Asia (2010) as Managing Editor of Philippines Airlines’ award-winning Inflight Travel and Lifestyle magazine, Mabuhay.

She now lives a bit jetlagged between continents, always on the lookout for a good story to put into writing, or some inspiring, magical moments to paint.
